Forest School
Our woodland area is based on the school site and provides a wonderful outdoor learning experience. It is essential that your child is adequately dressed in order for them to fully enjoy this experience. On Forest School day (TBC) please bring your child to school in their woodlands clothes (clothing that you do not mind if it gets muddy, snagged on branches etc. and school shoes (they will put their wellies and waterproofs on before leaving the classroom).
As the children are coming to school in their Forest School clothes and will be staying in it all day, please ensure clothing is appropriate and comfortable and that all items are labelled with their name. All children should also have a bag with a full set of spare clothes that is kept in the cloakroom should they have a toileting accident or get wet/dirty whilst playing.
Each Forest School day (unless told otherwise) children will need to arrive at school in the following clothing:
Please ensure they also have with them (on the day or previously brought into school):
Forest School days
The children in Reception will start some informal Forest School sessions in term 3. They will get to know how to safely and successfully get to, and explore, the site. For these sessions they will wear their coats, wellies, and waterproofs (please ensure your child has these in school every day). After February half term we will ask you to send your child to school in their Forest School kit – a long sleeved top and long trousers, with additional weather dependent items e.g., gloves, hat etc. In hot weather, you may send your child to school with a short sleeve top and shorts to change into after their session. The day for Forest School sessions will be communicated nearer to the end of term 3.
